Two-stroke gasoline lawn mower starting steps
Starting Steps for a Two-Stroke Gasoline Lawn Mower
Ensure Safety: Before starting the mower, make sure you are wearing proper protective gear, such as goggles, gloves, and earmuffs. Also, make sure there are no other people or pets around.
Check Fuel and Oil: Check the fuel and oil levels of the mower. Make sure they are both in sufficient amounts. Depending on the model of the mower, you may need to add fuel and/or oil.
Set Brakes and Pedals: Release the brake handle so that it is out of the brake position. Make sure the pedal (if any) is in the clutch position.
Pull the Starter Cord: Find the starter cord and tighten it along the starter handle. Then, pull the starter cord hard and quickly. This will give the mower power to start the engine.
Start the Engine: Once you pull the starter cord, the engine should start. If it does not start, you can repeat the above steps. When the engine starts, release the starter handle.
Adjust the throttle: After the engine starts, reset the throttle handle to the initial position and adjust the position of the throttle handle.
Matters needing attention during the start-up process and common problems and their solutions
Mixed oil ratio: Two-stroke lawn mowers use mixed oil, the ratio is two-stroke oil: gasoline = 1:25 (ordinary oil) or 1:50 (special oil).
Check the throttle switch: Before starting, make sure the throttle switch is adjusted to about 1/3 of the full open position, and make sure the choke is in the closed state.
Low-speed running-in: The new machine runs at low speed for a few minutes before working to avoid damage to the machine.
Common problems and solutions:
If the start fails, but a sonic boom lasting more than 1 second is generated, the choke should be opened immediately and an attempt should be made to restart.
If the start fails due to excessive oil in the cylinder, it is recommended to remove the spark plug first, pull the starter several times to drain the excess oil, then reinstall the spark plug and try to start.
