First, the drum lawn mower

The cutter blade of this type of lawnmower usually consists of two parts. One part is fixed at the lower end, and the other part rotates at high speed in a direction perpendicular to the ground at the upper end. During operation, as the lawnmower moves forward, the weeds will be caught between the upper and lower ends, and then the blade acts like scissors to cut off the weeds.

As a result, the distance from the ground to the lower blades of the lawn mower will determine the range of grass cutting heights, while the number of upper blades will determine the amount of weeds removed by the lawn mower. The more blades there are, the more precise the removal will be.

Knives need regular maintenance and cleaning; otherwise, just like scissors covered with impurities and unable to work effectively, lawn mowers cannot achieve the desired mowing effect either.

Second, rotary lawn mowers

This type of lawn mower often contains only one or two knives and rotates at high speed in a direction parallel to the ground, removing weeds from the ground like peeling potatoes.

Such a design means that weeds closer to the ground can be removed, and the maintenance of knives also becomes more convenient.

However, due to the high-speed rotation working mode, the removed weeds often fly out along with the rotation of the cutting tool. Although a collection cover is designed, it is still necessary to clear the flying weeds again after cutting.

Some styles have been improved in design. By applying aerodynamic principles, certain restrictions have been imposed on the paths where weeds fly out. Combined with the collection bags at the back, this issue has been significantly alleviated.

Third, the hovering lawn mower

This type of lawn mower enables the blades to hover a few inches above the ground on an air cushion, minimizing contact with the ground and thereby reducing friction between the mower and the ground. As a result, they have a more flexible direction of movement, even including lateral movement, making them highly suitable for complex garden weeding environments.
