Common faults and causes of brush cutters: maintenance and handling methods for brush cutters
We have seen garden workers pushing a machine to trim lawns in public green areas such as parks, streets, campuses, and hospitals. That machine is a brush cutter, also known as a brush cutter or lawn trimmer. Mower is mainly used to trim lawns, vegetation, etc. The brush cutter trims the lawn very quickly, greatly improving work efficiency, saving time and human resource losses. However, sometimes there may be some malfunctions, such as engine failure to start, abnormal walking system, etc. Below, we will introduce the common causes and maintenance methods of brush cutters.
Common faults and troubleshooting of brush cutters
Fault 1: The engine cannot start. The cause analysis and handling methods are as follows:
1. When the engine starts cold, the throttle is not in the choke position. Troubleshooting method: Move the throttle to the blocking position.
2. There is no fuel in the fuel tank. Troubleshooting method: Add appropriate fuel.
3. The fuel switch is in the off position. Troubleshooting method: Turn on the fuel switch.
4. The filter in the fuel pipe is blocked. Troubleshooting method: Clean the filter screen in the filter.
5. The throttle lever is in the "STOP" position. Troubleshooting method: Turn the throttle lever to the appropriate position, such as using a choke when cooling the car; Use the front door when heating up the car.
6. The spark plug wiring is not properly connected. Troubleshooting method: Connect the high-voltage wire of the spark plug and replace it with a new one if necessary.
7. Spark plugs cannot ignite, such as large or small electrode gaps, excessive carbon deposits, etc. Troubleshooting method: Clean the carbon deposits and dirt around the spark plug electrodes, and adjust the spark plug gap to 0.6 to 0.8 millimeters.
8. Spark plug damage, such as electrode breakdown. Troubleshooting method: Replace with a suitable and new spark plug.
9. Too much fuel entering the engine cylinder drowned the engine. Troubleshooting method: Turn the throttle to the stop position and turn off the fuel switch; Remove the spark plug and wipe it clean; Pull the engine a few times to remove excess gasoline from the cylinder; When reinstalling the spark plug, it should be tightened in place by hand first, and then further tightened with a spark plug wrench. Turn the throttle to the high throttle position, turn on the fuel switch, and restart the engine.
10. The air filter is too dirty and obstructs normal intake. Troubleshooting method: Clean the air filter and update the filter element or filter assembly if necessary.
11. Excessive wear of the cylinder and piston causes insufficient cylinder pressure. Troubleshooting method: Replace the cylinder, piston, and piston rings.
